A Bike Clinic and Ride is being held in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Harbor Springs Cycling Classic! Northern Michigan Cycling Adventures in conjunction with Touring Gear Bike Shop is hosting this special event with the Birchwood Inn. The event begins Thursday evening with a welcome reception. Meet Ed Wagar, USA Cycling certified coach and owner of Touring Gear. Friday morning, Ed will conduct an informative clinic, followed by an awesome ride - complete with coaching tips to help tune your skills along the way.
The Bike Clinic and Ride, held just prior to the Harbor Springs Cycling Classic, provides a fabulous long weekend of riding in northern Michigan. The Clinic Package includes the welcome reception, Thursday night lodging at Birchwood Inn, power breakfast, bike clinic and guided ride. The rate is $75 per person, plus taxes, based on double occupancy or $90 plus taxes, based on single occupancy.
Indicate the Clinic Package on the Harbor Springs Cycling Classic registration form. A twenty-five dollar deposit is required to hold your place in the clinic, which has a limited participation. An additional fifty dollar room deposit is required and is applicable to either the Clinic Package and/or the Weekend Package for the Cycling Classic. Any registration cancellation made two weeks or more prior to the event will receive a refund, less a $10 administration fee. Cancellation within two weeks forfeits all deposits.
Northern Michigan Cycling Adventures offers camps, clinics, guided rides, and additional services in beautiful northwest Michigan. Enjoy breath-taking views of Lake Michigan as you roll along under the famous "Tunnel of Trees" on M-119. Spin along the lightly traveled country roads of Joy Valley or climb the endless hills of North Conway and Stutsmanville Roads. The ride will be custom designed to suit the needs of your group.
Do you prefer mountain biking? We have that too! We'll share one of northern Michigan's best kept secrets with you - the single track on the North Country Trail. It is sure to satisfy even the most discriminating mountain biker.
Camps give you the opportunity to build endurance and focus on technique to fine tune your skills. The base lodge for camps is the Birchwood Inn, conveniently located on the "Tunnel of Trees," and the perfect place to relax after a day on your bike. We will custom design an epic adventure for your group of ten or more riders at any time of the season. For more information please contact either Ed Wagar, proprietor of Touring Gear Bike Shop, or the Group Sales Department at Birchwood Inn.
Clinics and rides, though shorter in nature, provide you with the coaching tips needed to improve your ability. Two and four hour sessions are offered for either private tutelage or group work. Rates and contact information can be found at Touring Gear Bike Shop or by calling 231-526-7152.
